XOS parity price = (cost per dose ÷ 2.8 g) × 1000
Parity uses 2.8 g — the upper, more conservative end of the studied XOS range. At the lower end of 1.4 g the parity price would be roughly double what is shown.
A low dose per serving is what makes a cheap per-kilo prebiotic look affordable. It is also why many finished products carry a fibre that never reaches the dose the research was built on — which is the whole reason cost-in-use, not price per kilo, is the number that matters.
